Big Bass Catch
Big Bass Catch surprised me. I expected a tap-and-wait time killer, but there's a genuine little fishing sim underneath. You pick a spot along a lake or river, choose a lure, and cast with a simple swipe. The longer you play, the more you notice how weather, depth and time of day nudge which fish show up.
The core loop is casting, feeling for a bite, then a short reel-in mini-game where you keep tension in a safe zone by tilting or holding. It's forgiving enough that you rarely lose a fish to bad luck, but a big bass will still test you if you get greedy. Between catches you tinker with your tackle box, and unlocking new spots gives you a nice reason to keep going.
What sold me is the pace. It's the kind of game you open for five quiet minutes and end up playing for twenty. Everything works completely offline, load times are short, and the sound design — water, reel clicks, the occasional splash — is genuinely calming. Not deep, but well made.
