Puzzle games that don't waste your time

The worst thing a mobile puzzle can do is stop you from playing. Lives systems and energy timers exist to interrupt, not to challenge.

Good puzzlers, like Tile Tangle, just let you play. The difficulty comes from the design, not from waiting. That's the whole difference.

I look for clear rules, gradual new mechanics, and a fail state that teaches rather than annoys. When a puzzle stumps me, I should feel close, not cheated.

If you want brain food on a plane or in a waiting room, pick something that works offline and never gates you behind a clock.
