Gridlock Command

Gridlock Command strips strategy down to what matters: positioning. Battles play out on small grids, so you can read the whole board and plan two turns ahead without a spreadsheet. It's chess-adjacent but with fog, terrain and unit abilities.

Missions are bite-sized, usually five to ten minutes, which suits mobile perfectly. There's a campaign with a light narrative frame and a skirmish mode for when you just want to think. The difficulty curve is fair and the AI actually punishes lazy moves.

It's not flashy, but it's smart. If you like slow, deliberate tactics you can dip into anywhere, this one earns a spot on your phone.
